I'm currently on an Austen kick and wonder if you can recommend me any good historical romances in the same spirit? That is: rather light, PG-13-ish and entertaining. It doesn't have to be too Austen-like though and the heroine can be of any age and personality. My favorite Austen books are Persuasion, Emma and Pride & Prejudice.

I've already been recommended Georgette Heyer.

Someone explained once how the pieces of what we are
fall downwards at the same rate
as the Universe.
The atoms of us, falling towards the centre

of whatever everything is. And we don't see it.
We only sense their slight drag in the lifting hand.
That's what weight is, that communal process of falling.
Furthermore, these atoms carry hooks, like burrs,

hooks catching like hooks, like clinging to like,
that's what keeps us from becoming something else,
and why in early love, we sometimes
feel the tug of the heart snagging on another's heart.

Only the atoms of the soul are perfect spheres
with no means of holding on to the world
or perhaps no need for holding on,
and so they fall through our lives catching

against nothing, like perfect rain,
and in the end, he wrote, mix in that common well of light
at the centre of whatever the suspected
centre is, or might have been.

Tulen tällä ja ensi viikolla viettämään useita päiviä Tampereella kouluttamassa firman porukoita meiltä pois siirtyviin palveluihin. En tunne pahemmin kaupunkia, sillä siellä on tullut käytyä vain pari kertaa, joten ajattelin kysyä olisiko f-listalaisilla jotain suosituksia mitä kannattaisi tehdä tai missä kannattaisi käydä sitten ilta-aikaan. Hotellissa makoiluun luultavasti kyllästyy hyvin pian. Myös ehdotuksia hyvän hinta-laatusuhteen omaavista ruokapaikoista otetaan ilolla vastaan :). Firma luultavasti majoittaa minut joko Tammeriin tai Ilvekseen, sillä heillä on S-ryhmän kanssa yhteistyösopimus.

No matter what happens, I just can't get bored with this. Though there are times where I think "WHAT am I watching?!?" XD

Night-man wanting to become an evil monster, to really kill his sempai, Sunred. . .

LOL XDXDXD

And then the lecture Red gives off to Nightman Night-owl, Bampu, and then fights not only Night-owl, but his crazy family too. XD

A~ah, after next week I'll miss this anime so much!

This drama is DELIGHTFUL. There's no other word for it. It's funny, it's sweet, it will occasionally stick a hand in your chest and squeeze all the oxygen from your lungs, but everything has a way of working out and I guarantee you'll be flailing at your screen and going ♥ ♥ ♥!!! again before you know it. If you need a drama to make you believe in the power of friendship, this would be it.

This cut is sorry, but it likes to be exact. )

What's it about?: (From Goodreads.com) CONTAINS SPOILER!
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
My thoughts:
Wow. Okay so I posted my review on The Hunger Games about 2 weeks ago I believe and everyone said I would probably like Catching Fire even more then the first book. And I have to admit, they were right. I loved it. You learn alot more about Panem and the characters from the first book. You also meet alot of new characters in this one aswell. I believe that made Catching Fire alot more interesting. However, I have to admit that I found Catching Fire to be a little slower in the beginning then in The Hunger Games. It took a while for anything to happen but at the same time, once things started to happen there were alot of twists and shocking moments. When you think you have everything figured out, the whole story changes. I think that is what made CF better then the Hunger Games. I highly recommend picking it up after you have read the first book but be warned, the ending leaves you with a huge cliff hanger and august is going to take forever to get here now.

Christopher Peachment, Caravaggio: A Novel
And David and Goliath I have done before, but this time there is a difference. David holds the head at arm's length and looks disgusted. And onto Goliath's severed head, I put my own features. The head hangs in darkness so that the black hair and beard framing the face blend off into the shadows, and there are four thin ropes of dark blood trailing down into space from the neck. And in one eye of the freshly severed head, there is still the faint glimmer of life.
That's me and that's the last painting I ever did.
Spectator, viewer, audience, however you care to call yourself; I address you here, with this, my final picture.
Cast a cold eye on it all, and on my work. I am still alive.
